Celebration of 70th Constitution Day in the Embassy on 26 November 2019

70th Constitution Day was celebrated in the Embassy of India, Nur-Sultan on 26.11.2019. Ambassador Prabhat Kumar gave a short historical background of the Constitution of India, followed by recitation of the Preamble of the Constitution by all members of the Indian community present and screening of a documentary on the Constitution of India. A year-long monthly quiz on Constitution Day and Campaign on Citizens’ Duties’, was also launched on this occasion.



Constitution Day was also celebrated in the Representative Office of India (RoI), Almatyin which members of INCHAM and other Indian residents of Almaty participated.

Small Indian community living in Aktau also celebrated Constitution Day by recitation of the Preamble and paying obeisance to the National Flag.

On this occasion Ambassador delivered a special lecture, at M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University, Nur-Sultan, entitled, 'India: World's Largest Constitutional Democracy', which was followed by a Q & A session with the students and faculty. The Ambassador also gifted a set of books on Indian polity and economy, including a copy of the Constitution of India and an autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi to its library.
