Celebration of Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and International Day of Non-Violence on 2nd October, 2015

The Embassy of India and Kazakhstan State Humanities and Law University (KazGUU)Diplomatic Academic Club jointly organized the celebration of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and International Day of Non-Violence at KazGUU, Nur-Sultan on 2nd October, which was attended by Ambassadors, Diplomats, Government Officials, Faculty of KazGUU and Students. The celebration began with welcome by Ms. Renata Faizova, Director (International Cooperation), KazGUU followed by garlanding of the Bust of Mahatma Gandhi. Ambassador Mr. Harsh Jain, Deputy Director of Department of Asia and Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mr. Khairat Akhmetalim, Rector of KazGUU Mr. Talgat Narikbayev, Ambassador of South Africa Mr. Shirish Soni, Ambassador of Norway and Co-Chairman of KazGUU Academic Diplomatic Club Mr. Ole Johan Bjornoy spoke on the life of Mahatma Gandhi and relevance of Gandhian values in today’s world. A documentary film on Mahatma Gandhi was screened to the students before the event. A photo and book exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi was also organized at the venue. Refreshments were served to the participants after the event.
