Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2016

The Embassy of India in Nur-Sultan celebrated the first Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Kazakhstan atAlmaty on January 16, 2016. Ambassador welcomed the gathering of around 75 members of the Indian community highlighting the importance of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, major initiatives of the Government of India and the need for constant and deeper engagement with Indian diaspora. A video of the keynote address by Hon'ble Extrernal Affairs Minister on the occasion of 14th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was shown. It was followed by panel sessions on India’s flagship investment promotion programmes such as Make in India, Digital India and Skill India, potential for collaboration with Indian Universities in Education, Science and R & D activities, development of India’s tourist potential, role of Indian Diaspora in strengthening India’s social and development efforts and diaspora issues. During the panel sessions, several members of the Indian community made presentations, followed by discussion.
