NEET to get admission to Medical/Dental Courses (MBBS/BDS) in India

Supreme Court in its judgement dated 9th May 2016 ruled that only National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) would enable to get admission to medical/dental courses (MBBS/BDS) studies in India. Subsequent amendments made to Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Dentist Act, 1948 in 2016 to give effect that his ruling of the Supreme Court on NEET requirement have prescribed a uniform entrance examination for admission to MBBS/BDS courses, including foreign students. NEET would serve as a measure to ensure a minimum standard of education in medical & dental colleges in India.

A copy of the press release issued by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in this regard including on the applicability of NEET requirement for foreign students for admissions to all medical/dental colleges in India for MBBS/BDS courses beginning academic year 2017-18 is here. NEET 2017 will be held in examination centres in India on May 07, 2017.
