13th India-Kazakhstan Inter Governmental Commission Meeting

The 13th India-Kazakhstan Inter Governmental Commission Meeting was held in Nur-Sultan on September 19-20, 2017. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship from the Indian side and Mr. Kanat Bozumbayev, Minister of Energy, from the Kazakhstan side. The meeting covered a wide range of issues of mutual interest including bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, trade, peaceful uses of nuclear energy, transport and logistics, civil aviation, mining, IT, healthcare, tourism, agriculture etc.

The Meeting highlighted the growing strategic partnership between the two countries and reviewed the status of implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi to Kazakhstan in July 2015 and June 2017. It also discussed new ideas and strategies to further expand bilateral cooperation in priority areas. The decisions were captured in an agreed Protocol that was signed at the end of the Meeting.
