Indian Tea Promotion in Almaty on August 23-24, 2018

A tea promotion event is being organized in Almaty by the Tea Board of India with support from Embassy of India, Nur-Sultan [Kazakhstan] on August 23-24, 2018.

Kazakhstan is the second largest importer of tea in the CIS region after Russia. India exported 46.92 million kg of tea to the region during April, 2017 - January, 2018. India is the leading supplier of tea to this country. Almaty is a major tea hub.

The promotion event is being organized as a part of a project to boost tea exports to this region. A 22-member delegation headed by Shri A.K. Ray, Deputy Chairman of the TEA Board of India, will conduct the two-day session that will feature a buyer-seller meet, tea testing session, seminar and other business campaigns. The delegation will comprise small tea growers along with representatives of organized gardens and tea brokers.
