Ambassador Shubhadarshini Tripathi visited South Kazakhstan as part of familiarisation tour. In Taraz, the Ambassador visited Taraz Regional University named after Mohammad Haidar Dulati. She met the Rector Mr Talgat Eshenkulov and was briefed about the university and its historical linkages to India. Issues of mutual cooperation were discussed at the meeting
Ambassador visited historical sites of tourist interests in Taraz. Ambassador also met with ITEC Alumni who warmly received her and guided her around the city.
Ambassador visited South Kazakhstan Medical Academy in Shymkent. She was received by Rector Mr. Myrzabek Rysbekov who briefed her on the activities of the Academy. More than 700 Indian students are enrolled at the academy and Ambassador had a detailed discussion on issues related to them. The faculty, laboratories and the Museum were also shown to the Ambassador by the Rector.

Ambassador visited the Mausoleum of the famous 12th century Sufi Saint Khwaja Akhmet Yassawi in Turkestan to pay respects. The tombstone of the great Saint is made of green marble from India.
