Indian Business Delegation Visit to Kazakhstan to Intensify ICT Engagement 

The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) of India has mounted a 15 member delegation visit to Kazakhstan on 14 March 2024 aimed at fostering bilateral cooperation and exploring opportunities for collaboration in the realm of digital innovation.

During their visit, the Indian delegation has engaged in productive discussions wih key stakeholders in Kazakhstan's ICT ecosystem, including government officials and industry leaders. These deliberations have focused on areas of mutual interest such as digital infrastructure development, cybersecurity, e-governance, Internet of Things, EdTech and leveraging emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain.

Speaking on the scope, range, and importance of the delegation, Mr. Sandeep Narula, Chairman, ESC said, “The ICT environment in CIS countries, especially in Kazakhstan, is rapidly expanding, riding on the back of mobile telephony, the rollout of 5G, OTT, data mining, and efforts being made by these countries to implement digitally inclusive and people-centric programs.  India being a leader in the IT sector and an emerging power in the electronic hardware sector can ably support the CIS countries in actualizing their digital ambitions as a partner in progress.”

Commenting on the significance of the visit, Ambassador of India Dr T.V. Nagendra Prasad, emphasized the shared vision of India and Kazakhstan in harnessing the transformative power of ICT to address common challenges and unlock new opportunities for socio-economic advancement. He told that that India has offered its world famous Digital payment platform -’Unified Payment Interface’ free of cost to Kazakhstan.

The visit has provided a platform for Indian companies to showcase their cutting-edge solutions and expertise in various ICT domains. Through business meetings, technology demonstrations, and networking sessions, the delegation has sought to forge strategic partnerships and explore avenues for joint ventures and investment opportunities in Kazakhstan's thriving ICT market. The visit of the Indian ICT delegation to Kazakhstan underscores the growing synergy between the two nations in leveraging technology as a catalyst for progress and prosperity. Over 150 Kazakhstan delegates met the visiting Indian delegation.
