Speech of Ambassador
Media Interaction
September 3, 2025
Al Salam Malek Kum, Namaskar, Salemitsiz be.
Distinguished members of the media, friends, ladies and gentlemen and my dear colleagues,
Good afternoon warm welcome to the Embassy of India.
It is a privilege and an honour to speak with you today. I thank you all for honouring our invitation and coming despite your heavy workloads. Welcome to the Embassy of India. The format is that I will make short opening remarks to be followed by interaction rather than me giving a monologue. Today is an important opportunity to share our existing multifaceted partnership but also immense opportunities that lie ahead for India-Kazakhstan.
Having recently presented my credentials to His Excellency Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I stand here deeply honoured to represent the Republic of India in this remarkable and dynamic country. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the government and people of Kazakhstan for the warmth and hospitality extended to me.
India and Kazakhstan share a relationship rooted in centuries of civilizational contact, cultural affinity, and mutual respect. Today, our ties are defined by strategic partnership, deepening economic engagement, growing people-to-people exchanges, and a shared vision for peace, stability, and development in our region and beyond. Kazakhstan occupies a key place in India's extended neighbourhood and in our vision for regional connectivity and prosperity.
Kazakhstan is not only India’s partner in Central Asia, but also a valued partner in multilateral forums such as the United Nations, SCO, and CICA. Our cooperation spans a wide spectrum—energy, pharmaceuticals, information technology, space, defence, education, and culture—and holds immense untapped potential.
As Ambassador, my foremost priority will be to further deepen our bilateral cooperation, foster greater economic and technological collaboration, and encourage stronger academic, cultural, and youth exchanges. I firmly believe that our partnership can evolve into a model for South-South cooperation—rooted in mutual benefit, mutual trust, and mutual respect.
In the coming months, I look forward to working closely with the government of Kazakhstan, business, academic institutions and the people of Kazakhstan to realise this shared vision. We also look forward to high-level visits, business delegations, and cultural initiatives that will bring our two peoples closer and add new momentum to this strategic partnership.
I thank you once again for your time and attention, and I look forward to working closely with all of you—members of the media—to promote greater awareness, understanding, and friendship between India and Kazakhstan.
Rahmet! Thank you!
