19th Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas Convention (January 07–09, 2027).

The 19th edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD) convention will be held from 07–09 January 2027 in Kolkata, West Bengal. The convention will be organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, in partnership with the Government of West Bengal (GOWB).

2. The PBD Convention will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. The Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, will confer the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards and preside over the Valedictory Session. The convention will also feature a Youth PBD segment. The event will bring together members of the Indian diaspora, young diaspora leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, academics, innovators, and other stakeholders from across the world.

3.The Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas convention is the flagship event of the Government of India, providing an important platform to connect and engage with the Indian diaspora and facilitate interaction among its members. Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas is celebrated on 09 January to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s return to India from South Africa on 09 January 1915. The 19th edition of this flagship diaspora engagement event will build on the success of previous editions to strengthen the deep connections of the Indian diaspora with India and celebrate their contributions to India and the world.

4. The GOI is working with GOWB to arrange various facilities including identifying hotels & homestays across several categories and arrangement of local transport, including airport transfers etc. Arrangement are being made to provide lunch and dinner to participants at the PBD venue on all 03 days of the event.
   
   
5. The Embassy of India, Astana, encourages the Indian diaspora in Kazakhstan to participate in PBD 2027 and disseminate information about the event through their networks. Details regarding registration, accommodation and other arrangements will be available on the official PBD website, expected to be launched by the end of October 2026.
