Speech by Ambassador Y. K. Sailas Thangal during Inauguration of the Goa State Stall at the Kazakhstan International Tourism Forum

Honourable Minister of Tourism of Goa, 

Distinguished Guests, 

Members of the tourism fraternity, friends from Kazakhstan, ladies and gentlemen,

It is a great pleasure to join you today at the inauguration of the Goa State Stall at the Kazakhstan International Tourism Forum here in beautiful Almaty.

The presence of the Hon’ble Minister of Tourism of Goa, leading this distinguished delegation, reflects the importance that Goa attaches to strengthening tourism ties with Kazakhstan and deepening the people-to-people bonds between our two friendly countries.

Goa is much more than just a tourist destination. It is a place where natural beauty, rich heritage, and warm hospitality come together in a truly unique way. Blessed with golden beaches, serene backwaters, vibrant markets, historic churches, colourful festivals, and a lively cultural spirit, Goa offers every visitor an experience that remains in the heart long after the journey ends.

What makes Goa truly special is its people. The people of Goa are known for their warmth, openness, and welcoming nature. Visitors do not feel like strangers in Goa — they feel at home. This spirit of hospitality has made Goa one of India’s most cherished & attractive destinations for travellers from across the world.

Goa has also made special efforts to ensure that visitors from Kazakhstan and other Russian-speaking countries feel comfortable from the moment they arrive. Many hotels and tourism establishments in Goa provide Russian-speaking guides and interpreters, making travel easier and more enjoyable for families and groups. This personal touch helps visitors experience Goa with comfort and confidence.
